It's so wonderful to have you here, Patt...Aww.. It's so wonderful to have you here, Patti! Well.. YOU AMAZE me by posting so frequently! (my followers are very, very kind and patient.. Thanks for that all you lovely people!!)

Very great about you reading CAGNEY ON CAGNEY - it's a great book by a marvellous artist (as you know one of my favourites..) and I am very happy that you enjoy reading it!

POSITIVE WORDS, POWERFUL RESULTS sounds quite intriguing - I will look out for that one.. Maybe there are parts which might also work in German.. ;")

Oh - and I for sure don't doubt "the mean-spiritedness that is rampant now".. It's eating me up at certain points.. It really makes me sad when people are so rude to each other. I am not in the whole informed about Rick Santorum's political program - well.. I guess that doesn't matter here.. Also some comments that I read about Obama online were disgusting and unfair and just ill-mannered. But no matter what one's political opinion is: I don't think it's an excuse to be rude. And that abortion message is really a cruel thing to say to a little girl. (or in relation to a little child..)

Thank you for leaving a comment here, Patti! And again: Thank you for following.Irene Palfyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13271957738785829189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-130681293561885714.post-79201026560592687902012-05-21T09:25:02.502-07:002012-05-21T09:25:02.502-07:00Thanks to your FB post, I discovered this blog and...Thanks to your FB post, I discovered this blog and am now following. I don't remember visiting this one before. (You people who author several blogs AMAZE me...you're awesome! I can barely manage 1 successfully!)

Anyhow, "Bleeding Heart Square" and "Sinful Woman" look interesting to me. I am going to see if my library has them.

As to what I am reading. Two books...James Cagney's autobiography ("Cagney by Cagney"). I quite adore Mr. Cagney, so I am enjoying the book.

The other book, which I HIGHLY recommend is "Positive Words, Powerful Results." I have become increasingly disheartened by the hateful, mean-spirited language people use nowadays. This book affirms my desire to use kind words and to say nothing if I don't have anything nice to say.

If you doubt the mean-spiritedness that is rampant now, all you have to do is read the "pages" on Facebook. Celebrities and political people receive the vilest, ugliest comments. So a person doesn't like a certain person...then don't read his page!!

The icing on the cake for me was recently when Rick Santorum (Republican Presidential hopeful...and my choice) posted about his daughter Bella's 4th birthday. She is a severely ill child and he was asking for birthday wishes for her. Some people wrote the meanest things, including one who wrote, "My unwed girlfriend and I were going to name our baby Bella, but we decided to have an abortion instead." What a mean thing to write. So you believe in abortion...so you don't like Rick Santorum...just don't go on his page. Is there really a need to be so mean-spirited and hateful. (I don't go on President Obama's page and write mean things to him, and I don't go on Kim Kardashian's page and write ugly things to her...I just avoid their pages.)

Anyhow, I highly recommend that book to EVERY person alive, with the hopes that they will incorporate its teaching into their lives...because words ARE powerful.Patti https://www.blogger.com/profile/12931836399684850729noreply@blogger.com
