It's Monday - what are you reading?

This is part of a Meme hosted by BOOK JOURNEY

Last week I reviewed

The last book I finished was

SINFUL WOMAN (1947) by James M. Cain - one of my favourite authors ever

(highly recommendable if you have a thing going on for 1940's pulp fiction and fictional Hollywood gossip)

I am reading...

... for my book-club:

EMMA (1814) by Jane Austen

 - which I enjoy very, very much.. - as much that I wish we would read faster in the "club"..

...for myself

THE NIGHT CIRCUS (2011) by Erin Morgenstern

borrowed from the library.. It's good so far..

So - what are you reading? Do you recommend it?

Hope you have a wonderful week filled with great books!

Thank you very much for reading!

Irene

    1. Hey! Love the covers, too. For Sinful Woman I found several and I am planning on post them all in my review - which will be most likely post at my film blog..

  2. I just reviewed the film "The Postman Always Rings Twice." I recall that the film was based on the James M. Cain novel of the same name. It's a fantastic story, so I'm quite sure "Sinful Woman" is equally as wonderful. Unfortunately, my library doesn't have that title in its system.

I finished my James Cagney autobiography. I loved it! He was an amazing (yet humble) man.

Still reading "Positive Words, Powerful Results," but when I was in the library on Friday, I was browsing the "Non-Fiction New Release" table. Came away with "Gilded Lives, Fatal Voyage," about the Titanic's first-class passengers and their world. Also got "The Royal Stuarts"...a history of the family that shaped Britain. Haven't started either of them yet, but they look interesting.

While I enjoy historical fiction, I often tend to gravitate to historical non-fiction as well. I am definitely in love with the past.

    Have a great day, Irene!
